NX
The 2020 Lexus NX compact SUV looks a lot like a car. It has an angular grille with the Lexus logo in the center, scratch-resistant paint, narrow headlights, and a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Its six-speed automatic transmission has eco, normal, and sport driving modes. The power synthetic leather seats come in Glazed Caramel, Rioja Red, crème, or black.
You’ll also get keyless entry, an 8-inch touch screen, push-button start, Amazon Alexa, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, and voice recognition. Standard safety features include forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and lane departure warning. You can also add heated and cooled front seats, paddle shifters for the steering wheel, heated auto-dimming side mirrors, a power moonroof, 19-inch wheels, navigation, a 10.3-inch screen, and parking assistance.
RX
The 2020 Lexus RX provides a smooth, quiet ride, and it resembles a refined, sleek hatchback. It comes with auto-dimming, power-folding side mirrors that have memory settings, a leather steering wheel with convenient controls, leather seats, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and six USB ports. The cup holders squeeze your drinks tightly, so you can open them with one hand and prevent spills.
The 3.5-liter V-6 engine generates 295 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque, and it can pull up to 3,500 pounds. It has an eight-speed automatic transmission, and you can select front-wheel drive or Active Torque Control all-wheel drive, which sends power to just the front wheels when possible for better efficiency.
You can also choose a foot-activated power liftgate, 20-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, auto-leveling headlights, and aluminum roof rails. Additional options include a 12.3-inch touch screen, power-reclining and folding second- and third-row seats, a head-up display, red seats with gray stitching, and bamboo walnut or gray Sapele wood trims. Two new colors, Nori Green Pearl and Moonbeam Beige Metallic, are also available.
GX
The 2020 Lexus GX has a rugged, modern look, and the angular grille is covered by small, black parallelograms with corners that point to the Lexus logo in the center. Its 4.6-liter V-8 engine produces 301 horsepower and 329 pound-feet of torque. It has a six-speed automatic transmission, and it can tow up to 6,500 pounds.
The optional Multi-Terrain Select system lets you choose from mud, sand, gravel, or normal driving modes. You can also add a monitor that displays multiple views, which makes it easier to avoid obstacles, navigate through tight spaces, and back up. All-wheel drive is also available, and you can select Crawl Control with five speeds. Both rows of rear seats fold and recline, and a cargo cover is optional. Smog-sensing dual-zone climate control recirculates the air in the cabin if it detects high pollution outside.
