The 2019 Lexus UX is Lexus’ fifth SUV model. Although this model may be small in size, it makes up for it in appearance and style. If you’re curious about this new crossover SUV, here are five reasons to love the new Lexus UX.

Lexus UX Offers Both Hybrid and Gas Models

The 2019 Lexus UX is being offered in two models. Choose from the standard gas model, or upgrade to the hybrid version that is more powerful and features electronic all-wheel drive.

The standard gas model offers a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine mated with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). The hybrid offers slightly higher horsepower than other models and is the only one of the two versions equipped with all-wheel drive.

F Sport Editions Available

No matter whether you opt for the standard four-cylinder UX200 or the hybrid UX250h, you can also upgrade to a cool F Sport edition.

The F Sport edition not only includes the expected visual changes to the bumpers and grill, but it also has revamped springs and anti-roll bars and 18-inch wheels. Optional adaptive dampers with adjustable firmness can be adjusted through the various driving modes.

Beautiful Seating

The Lexus UX’s interior was designed to give the feel of a commanding SUV, but maintain the seating position of a hatchback. Look for options like quilted leather that is made in the traditional Japanese sashiko embroidery style. You can even choose from different grain patterns for the trim, including one inspired by Japanese paper.

Superb Handling

It’s expected that the new Lexus UX will handle beautifully on the road, especially since it’s supposed to have the lowest center of gravity in its class. It has electrically assisted steering and MacPherson struts in the front and a double-wishbone suspension in the back. This helps provide even more comfort over rough pavement. The UX also takes advantage of the Lexus’ brand’s GA-C, or Global Architecture — Compact, platform.

Safety Is Still a Priority

Even though the Lexus UX is a subcompact crossover SUV, important details like safety were not forgotten. The new Lexus has an extensive array of safety features. For example, it has a pre-collision system that can recognize pedestrians any time of day or night, while a radar system detects cyclists during the daytime.

Other common standard features include adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist. In addition, there is another system that can detect an impending collision from either the front or the rear and will make necessary adjustments to avoid a collision or reduce the severity of the impact.

There is no shortage of luxury subcompact SUVs on the market. With the arrival of the Lexus UX, there will be at least nine to choose from. If you’re looking for small SUV that helps combat urban parking issues, but you don’t want to sacrifice performance and looks, the 2019 Lexus UX will be right up your alley. Stop by today to take one for a test drive.
