If you’ve been thinking about painting a unique piece for your home or a friend, check out these classes near Allentown. All of the courses are informative and fun for painters of all ages and skill levels.

1. Bossard’s Board Works

Bossard’s Board Works is in Palmerton.  Are you new to painting? Reserve a spot at a walk-in session and enjoy creating a custom piece from any wood that you bring in. You need to make reservations one week ahead of time. Once you arrive, you have the option of creating anything you want or copying one of their designs. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with the creating starting at 6 p.m.

Do you need more structure while you paint? Check out one of the many classes and party options, Brossard’s offers. Each is different, so you leave with a unique piece. These events require tickets with a $10 down payment and the balance due the day of your class. It covers your instruction, supplies, and snacks.

2. Painting with a Twist

Painting with a Twist combines art with a party. Grab your favorite bottle of wine and head for Leigh Street in Allentown. They offer two and three-hour classes that let you create and enjoy time with friends and family. The studio offers group parties as well as smaller sessions for couples or solo painters. Painters are required to bring ice, but the studio provides cups.

Some classes are open to all ages, while others do have an age limit. Check the course you want to attend before asking friends and family to join you. Most of the classes use canvas for painting, but certain classes use different mediums, if you want a unique piece.

3. Paint and Party

The Paint and Party studio is on West Allen Street in Allentown. They offer a variety of painting options for the entire family to enjoy. For the adults, grab your favorite beverage, friends, and snacks for a night of laughs and creating. Each class has a different theme so you can choose the subject you want to create. The fee covers all of your supplies, instructors, and two hours of studio time.

For younger painters, children are welcome at family-friendly events. Parents are asked to stay and help younger children at the studio. If your painter wants to get creative but doesn’t want to sit through a class, there are open paint sessions every Saturday unless there is an event. The cost depends on the size of the canvas.

Family sessions are offered on Sunday and are suitable for children over the age of eight. They run for an hour to an hour and a half depending on the subject. Bring everyone together and create masterpieces for everyone to take home.

Ask a friend or family member to go with you to the class. It’s a great way to relax and create that piece your home has been missing.
