Fun Things To Do | Allentown, PA | Lexus of Lehigh ValleyKeeping your kids entertained is often challenging, and smartphones, video games, or music streaming services only provide a certain level of entertainment. One of the best ways to keep the kids busy is to take them out for a few hours to engage in some fun activities in your area. If you’re living in Allentown, there is no shortage of attractions aimed at children and teens. You’ll find out about some of the best activities for your kids in Allentown below.

Da Vinci Science Center

You could make an argument that the best kids’ activities combine both fun and some sort of positive personal development benefit. The Da Vinci Science Center fits that bill by teaching your kids about science in a fun and engaging way. Not everybody likes to learn about the world around them with a textbook in school, and this great attraction on Hamilton Boulevard teaches kids about science using fun exhibits that are interactive too.

Entry to the Da Vinci Science Center costs $13 per person, and this museum is ideal for a rainy day activity. Current highlights include an interactive KEVA exhibit that allows your kids to try their hand at building a structure using KEVA planks.

Coca-Cola Park

Taking your kids to watch a baseball game down at the Coca-Cola Park on Iron Pigs Way is one of the most popular activities in Allentown. Food options are ubiquitous and there are plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained besides the baseball itself. There is a firework display held weekly on Friday nights, and there’s not many better places in Allentown to spend a hot spring or summer day.

The great thing about the Coca-Cola Park is that it features Minor League Baseball games, which are a lot less expensive to watch than Major League games. The stadium holds 10,178 fans and is home to the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, an affiliate of the Phillies.

Allentown Fish Hatchery

The Allentown Fish Hatchery makes for another great attraction to take your kids to. The hatchery features multiple species of fish, and your kids can feed them in addition to learning about the different fish types from the well-informed and friendly staff.

A beautiful stream passes by the hatchery and that’s also worth checking out for a pleasant stroll with your whole family. You can also set up a picnic nearby as you watch the fish in their tanks. This is an outdoor attraction and is free to enter. You’ll find the Allentown Fish Hatchery on Fish Hatchery Road.

Allentown Farmers Market

Located in a large complex on West Chew Street, the Allentown Farmers Market is a superb place to take your kids to sample some delicious food that’s cooked using locally sourced ingredients. This is an old-school market layout with vendors cooking up modern food such as Vietnamese cuisine, including wonderful fresh zingy spring rolls that you and your kids won’t be able to stop eating. The market is open from Thursday until Saturday every week.

Take your kids to these four attractions in Allentown to keep them entertained and get some fresh air in the process.
