Lexus has always been one of the defining brands in automobile luxury. With every year, the manufacturer releases updated vehicles that combine luxury with innovation. But Lexus doesn’t only design vehicles with the next year in mind. At auto shows over the past couple years, Lexus has revealed its vision for the future of innovative luxury. Here are a few of the visionary concept vehicles on Lexus’ mind.

LF-C2

At the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show, Lexus unveiled the LF-C2 concept vehicle: a roadster designed with angles that catch the light in a way that makes the vehicle seem as if it’s moving even when it’s parked. According to Jeff Bracken, the Lexus group’s vice president, “the LF-C2 concept shows what’s in store for our brand’s future design direction.”

In essence, the LF-C2 is an advanced sport-coupe with a topless open-air design. The exterior design maximizes its sporty attitude with vents that direct air over brakes and manage airflow through the vehicle’s body to maintain stability at high speeds. The luxurious and spacious cabin is also outfitted with innovative technology like a central video monitor controlled by a remote touchpad.

LF-SA

According to Lexus, the LF-SA concept vehicle fulfills the manufacturer’s vision that a genuine driving experience is the ultimate in luxury. Built to be a city car, the LF-SA has compact packaging for tight maneuverability and agility. The concept vehicle has a very Lexus exterior with sharp lines and an aggressive front end. Lexus wants to change the perception of the vehicle depending on the angle from which you view it.

For a smaller vehicle, the LF-SA has a surprisingly spacious interior that seems larger than it is thanks to the sweeping design of features like the dashboard. Unlike current vehicles, the LF-SA’s driver’s seat is not adjustable, while the pedals and steering wheel are. That customization brings the vehicle to the driver instead of the other way around. And while Lexus has revealed little about the technology in the LF-SA, the concept vehicle’s press release includes mention of a hologram-style digital display and a wide-angle Head-Up-Display.

LF-FC

In 2015, Lexus revealed a concept for a new flagship sedan: the LF-FC. The LF-FC concept marries luxury and high-tech features through its careful exterior and interior design. The LF-FC’s exterior illustrates Lexus’s masterful ability to blend elegance and aggression, from the signature, sharp grille to the L-shaped daytime running lights that run seamlessly along the front fenders.

An open and comfortable interior only improves the LF-FC’s driving experience. Passengers can relax in the back with reclining features and a surplus of head and leg room. The technology in the LF-FC culminates with a human-machine interface that drivers can operate with simple hand gestures. Holographic images on the center console indicate where to make those gestures in order to control everything from audio to temperature.

The future is bright for Lexus. While these vehicles are concepts, for now, we hope to see them on the road as soon as the technology allows. For all news on the innovative vehicles coming in Lexus’s future, keep it here on the Lexus of High Valley.
