Fall in Lehigh is a special time of year that has more to do with the overall sense of warmth and family than merely just a change of season. It is a time where the locals try to squeeze as much warmth out of their days as possible while embracing the coziness that comes along with winter. It is a busy time of year where the community has access to many events that see them through to winter. These are some of the must-attend fall events on the Lehigh calendar.

Arts Fest 2017

This is the ideal event for those who wish to experience a slightly quirkier side to the world of art. It is a festival that showcases the portfolios of those at the Alternative Gallery. The event runs from September 29 to October 1, and all visitors are welcome free of charge. Visitors make their way to the Cedar Beach Park, where they will witness some stunning and sometimes bizarre art displays. These include giant graffiti murals, comedy and improv sets, and more.

The event also offers a selection of artwork on display and for sale. Visitors will have access to food and beverage stalls, which include craft wine and beer.

The Queen’s Cartoonists

There is something warming about watching old cartoons and appreciating the humor and skill of the old artists. Music played a big part in these cartoons and these tunes somehow become ingrained in memories. The Queen’s Cartoonists is a musical delight that takes all those favorite tunes and puts them together in a delightful medley. They will strut their stuff — and their strings — at the Miller Symphony Hall on September 29. This is a must for jazz lovers who appreciate a bit of fun in a music routine. It also happens to be a great date night choice.

22nd Annual Collegiate Marching Band Festival

October 1 is a day that promises to deliver hours of fun and excitement as marching bands strut their stuff. The event consists of 20 marching bands from various colleges and universities. The bands come from as far as Massachusetts and Connecticut. Those who wish to attend should consider purchasing their tickets in advance to benefit from the entrance fee discount.

Art Museum Fall Festival

Attending the Art Museum Fall Festival is a must for those with a love for the arts. This is not just an event where the community has the option to purchase or simply just wander through collections; they also have the chance to create. At the festival, attendees have the opportunity to watch films from the International Children’s Film Festival. There are also many hands-on activities to ensure this is a day filled with fun for the whole family. The event takes place at the Art Museum and even has sections into Fifth Street and the Art Park.

Apart from many mainstream festivals and events taking place during the fall, Lehigh Valley also hosts smaller events that attract a mixture of people. There are also weekly events to look forward to bring the community together.
