Imagine a vehicle that effortlessly combines the perks of a compact car with the versatility of an SUV and the comfort of a luxury sedan. For the past three years, Lexus has manufactured such a vehicle under its NX banner. Today, the 2018 Lexus NX 300 represents the latest in this remarkable lineup.

Three Trims

Lexus has created three attractive price points for the 2018 NX 300. The first trim is the base NX 300. With an MSRP of $35,985, this is already a premium vehicle with class-leading safety equipment and convenient amenities, like available Wi-Fi and a power-operated rear door. The second trim is the NX 300 F Sport edition. This model costs $38,375 and uses a specialized suspension system and other sport-oriented features to deliver a driving experience that emphasizes performance.

The third configuration is the NX 300h, which is a hybrid model that starts at $38,335. Naturally, this model delivers the best fuel efficiency of the pack.

Engines

There are two available engines in the 2018 Lexus NX 300. The base model and the NX 300 F Sport model share the same turbocharged four-cylinder engine, providing 235 horsepower. This engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and can be used in front-wheel or all-wheel drive, depending on the options you choose.

The NX 300h model combines an equally capable 2.5-liter engine with electric motors to deliver 194 horsepower. The hybrid powertrain is also significantly quieter than its standard counterpart, adding a bit of peace to your overall ride quality.

Performance

Regardless of which engine is under the hood, you’ll enjoy the incredible performance of the 2018 Lexus NX 300 on every drive. Simply turn a knob to switch between three different driving modes, and take advantage of the available all-wheel drive if you’re tackling any treacherous terrain.

Of course, you should consider the NX 300 F Sport trim if you’re chasing the highest level of performance. This version of the vehicle uses a unique wishbone-type suspension, front and rear performance dampers, and available Adaptive Variable Suspension technology to enhance your driving experience on any type of road.

Special Packages

If you’re attracted to the luxury aspect of owning a Lexus, you’ll be pleased to learn about the many packages you can add to your new NX 300. For example, the Navigation Package gives you a 10.3-inch touch screen, premium sound system, and additional USB port for just $1,800.

The Comfort Package offers heated and ventilated seats, auto-dimming mirrors, and blind-spot monitoring software. This package costs $980 for the NX 300 and NX 300h trims and $1,140 in the NX 300 F Sport trim. Other available packages add premium surfacing, a sliding moonroof, and eye-catching 18-inch wheels.

As the NX 300 enters its fourth model year of production, it’s poised to be the best version of an already excellent vehicle. Consider the 2018 Lexus NX 300 if you’re looking for a luxurious ride that won’t let you down on performance.
