The new 2018 Lexus NX has undergone some exciting changes. It’s been given a sleeker exterior with longer taillights and the signature Lexus spindle front grille. It’s packed with new and exciting features that blow away the competition.
Safety Features
The Lexus NX comes standard with the Lexus Safety System, which includes a whole suite of driver aids. You’ll get a Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System, lane departure alert, auto high beams, forward collision warning, a Pre-Collision System, and autonomous emergency braking. This means better illumination on the roads, more control over your vehicle, and plenty of safety features for those moments that may otherwise lead to an accident.
One of the biggest changes to the safety of the Lexus NX has been the addition of the Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS). The AVS offers a range of up to 650 instant compression and damping adjustments to give you more control and better handling while you’re driving.
Power and Performance
There are two models available for the NX. The NX 300 comes with a 2.0-liter turbocharged I4 engine while the NX 300h is a hybrid that has a 2.5-liter I4 engine alongside a pair of electric motors to boost fuel economy. Both engines give you a richer and sportier engine sound through the speakers.
Both NX models come standard with adaptive suspension, shock absorbers, and sway bars to improve handling. The NX has sharper handling than ever before and still gives you that smooth Lexus ride.
Technology and Entertainment
The new infotainment system is a huge 10.3 inches and has a large touch pad to control it. They’ve added a wrist support beside the touch pad for additional comfort. You’ll also get a wireless phone charger that’s big enough for any size phone and USB ports with higher amperage so that you can charge things faster.
Another nice addition is the hands-free rear hatch. It can be opened or closed by simply waving your foot under the rear bumper cover.
Comfort and Convenience
The interior of the 2018 Lexus NX has been reworked to give it a sportier and more luxurious feel. The design of the HVAC control panel has been simplified. There are only four easy-to-operate toggle switches. The analog clock has been made to look cleaner and simpler. It now includes a satellite control that automatically adjusts the time when you drive through different time zones.
The interior is made by the incredible TAKUMI masters. The seats are stitched to perfection, and the interior seats and paneling now have intricate patterns done by hand-operated machinery.
The NX has never been smoother on the road. The new 2018 NX features reduced noise, vibration, and harshness due to a suspension tuning as well as sound deadening inside the vehicle’s body.
Compared to other cars in its class, the Lexus NX has better fuel economy, more space, and is more affordable. It’s ranked higher by Car and Driver than the Mercedes Benz GLA, Audi Q3, and the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque.
