A great way to get the kids outside in the fresh air is to bring them to a local playground or park. They can get some exercise and even play with their friends, and you can either sit and relax or get some exercise yourself. Here are some Allentown parks so everyone can get out and play.

Cedar Beach Playground

The Cedar Beach Playground is a 19,000 square-foot playground with tons of space and a large play structure. It’s one of the largest in the area and it’s even handicap-accessible. This park has a wide range of equipment for kids of all ages to play on so you can bring the whole family and even the older kids can have some fun. The structures sit on a rubberized surface to help soften the blow if kids fall down, and this surface makes it easier for people in wheelchairs to get around. There are some interactive stations that use the concept of a video game, but the kids are outside and playing with each other instead of looking at a screen. Bring the kids here to climb the rock walls, traverse the monkey bars, and slide down the slides for the afternoon.

Bungalow Park

Bungalow Park is a small park with a small playground structure that has two slides and some baby swings. It also has a basketball court if the older kids and adults want to play some ball. This park sits in a quiet neighborhood and is a good place to go if you live right in the area.

South Whitehall Chase Park

On Lincoln Avenue in Allentown, you’ll find South Whitehall Chase Park. This is also a small neighborhood park with some playground equipment and a basketball court. The playground has some ride on toys and a couple of small slides. If you live in the neighborhood behind the park, there’s a bike path that connects it to the park so you can even ride your bikes with the kids if they want to play. There is also a small hill for sledding in the winter.

Lone Lane Park

Lone Lane Park is one of the larger Parks in the Allentown area. It has a large parking area, a pavilion for some shade if you want to sit and have a picnic, and a large playground with plenty of equipment for the kids to climb and play on. This park also has soccer and baseball fields and hosts games throughout the different seasons, and there are public restrooms right on-site. There are basketball courts, horseshoe pits, and barbecue pits and grills throughout the park. The park sits on Lone Lane Road right in the Windermere and Kraft Village Developments.

Head to one of these Allentown parks for the afternoon and let the kids play while you enjoy some fresh air. Bring a picnic lunch and spend some quality time with the family, or meet friends for a fun summer outing outside.
