Allentown Art Museum
The Allentown Art Museum is one of the top attractions in Lehigh Valley. You might not expect it away from an urban hub, but the Allentown Art Museum has a world-class collection of over 13,000 works of art that span over 2,000 years of cultural heritage.
The museum is also home to one of Allentown’s best cafes. It was voted “Best of the Valley” by Lehigh Valley Magazine and has a fantastic menu of homemade soups, salads, sandwiches, fruit, and desserts that are made in-house each morning. While sitting at the cafe, you can also enjoy excellent coffee, free Wi-Fi, and wonderful contemporary music.
The museum costs $12 for adults, and children under 5 years old are admitted for free.
America on Wheels
Car lovers should certainly visit America on Wheels while they’re in Lehigh Valley. This car museum is located in Allentown, and tickets cost $10. The aim of the museum is to educate and entertain people on the history of the automobile in the United States.
The museum has a large collection of trucks, cars, motorcycles, and bicycles. It also focuses on the importance of the Mack Truck in America as well as the highway system in Pennsylvania. Kids will enjoy the hands-on exhibits and sitting in some of the vehicles. There’s even a museum store where you can purchase models of some of the vehicles you’ve seen inside the museum.
The Spa at Bear Creek
For some quiet time, adults should head over to the Spa at Bear Creek in Macungie. Bear Creek is a ski resort where you can enjoy hitting the slopes in the morning with your friends before relaxing in the spa in the afternoon. You don’t have to be a guest of the resort to enjoy the day spa.
The Spa at Bear Creek is a full-service spa with everything from full body treatments to massages, manicures, and facials. There’s also a hair salon on-site if you want to get a cut and color or are interested in having your hair done for a special occasion like a nearby wedding.
Original Ghost Tour of Downtown Bethlehem
If you enjoy a ghost story, you’ll love the Original Ghost Tour of downtown Bethlehem. The tour is held during the autumn leading up to Halloween. It’s given by the team at the Moravian Bookshop, which is the oldest bookshop in America.
The tour takes you through Bethlehem in the evening with only candlelight to guide you. The tour stops at all of the haunted locations around the city, such as the Historic Bethlehem Hotel and the Colonial Industrial Quarter.
