The 2018 Lexus GX packs towing capacity and off-road capabilities in a refined and comfortable package. When you are in the market for a midsize SUV, the GX is an exceptional choice. With the ruggedness, you would expect from an off-road vehicle to the posh interior and infotainment system the GX delivers on all fronts. The only real choice you’ll need to make is what trim level to get. Here is an overview of the three available GX trim levels and what to expect in each package.

All GX models come standard with a 301 horsepower, 4.6L V-8 and a six-speed automatic transmission. You’ll also have four-wheel drive to help you on the road. Other standard features include stability control, electronic traction control, a brake assist system, and voice-activated controls.

Lexus GX 460

The jumping off point for the GX series of SUVs is the 460. Starting at an MSRP of $52,155 the GX comes standard with a long list of features. At this level, you’ll get NuLuxe trimmed seats, with 10-way power adjustment for both front seats. Heated and ventilated front seats are an optional add-on. Other standard equipment includes a Bluetooth enabled infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen, a power moonroof, a leather-trimmed steering wheel, and wheel-mounted controls.

The GX 460 has the Navigation Package option which gets you voice activation, the Lexus Enform App Suite, a Fuel Guide, sports, and stock quotes. On the driver assistance front, you can add the Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

Lexus GX 460 Premium

Moving up to the GX 460 Premium, you’ll get genuine leather trimmed seats with further color options including Ecru with Mahogany wood trim. This trim level also gets third zone climate control, heated second-row seats, and available second-row captain’s chairs. With the Sport Design Package, the GX also receives Gunmetal Metallic 18-inch alloy wheels, an exclusive front fascia, and side-view mirror design. For an added touch of class, you can choose to have a wood and leather trimmed steering wheel and shift knob added to the package.

Lexus GX 460 Luxury

Just as the name implies, this model pulls out all the stops for a luxury SUV. Features that are optional on the other trim levels are standard on the Luxury model. You’ll get the navigation system, heated and ventilated front seats, power-folding third-row seats, and the Lexus Adaptive Variable Suspension system. This last system provides the driver with the opportunity to dial in the suspension ride manually depending on the terrain.

No matter what trim level you choose, you’ll get a robust SUV that leans heavily toward the luxury end of the SUV spectrum. The beauty of the GX 460 is that you get a well priced, luxury midsize SUV that is customizable with options and packages. For everyone who is looking to get there in the epitome of style, the two upper trim levels, the 460 Premium, and Luxury offer unparalleled refinement in the same rugged package. With any of these models, you’ll be riding in style with the hidden ability to tow a large boat or take your adventure off-road at a moment’s notice.
